These terms cover what Nine Pick does for you, what you keep, and what to watch out for. Please read the sections on automatic culling, your rights in the photos you import, and local data.

What the app does

Nine Pick imports photos you select, scores them on the device, drops the ones that do not hold up, lays the rest out as a single grid image, and exports it. Current features:

  • Selection of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 9 cells, in six ratios: 3:4, 4:5, 1:1, 9:16, 4:3 and 16:9.
  • Per-cell crop adjustment — drag to pan, pinch to zoom, reset one cell — with undo and redo across the edit.
  • Styling: spacing, borders, corner radius, backdrop, eight looks at three strengths, optional sharpening.
  • Export up to 2160 pixels wide in HEIF, JPEG or PNG, saved to your photo library or handed to the share sheet.
  • A local collection of finished grids you can reopen, re-export or delete.

Automatic culling is a judgement call

The scores are measurements of sharpness, exposure, faces and similarity, computed on your device within the batch you selected. They are a second opinion, not a verdict: a deliberately soft-focus photo, a dark concert frame or an overexposed sky can be dropped even though you wanted it. Nothing is deleted from your library — culled photos simply stay out of the grid, with a stated reason, and any photo that did not fit stays in the strip as a spare. Look over the result before you post.

Your content and rights

Your photos stay yours. Importing them into the app does not transfer ownership or grant the developer a licence to host, display, market or train models on your work. You are responsible for having the rights to the images you import and to anything visible in them — people, artwork, brands, private spaces.

You may use grids made with the app however you like, including commercially. What you may not do is lift the app itself, its built-in assets, icons or fonts out as a stand-alone asset pack, resell them, or redistribute the app.

Acceptable use

Use the app within the law. Do not use it to produce or spread content that infringes someone's copyright, portrait rights or privacy, or that is harassing, deceptive or otherwise unlawful. Do not impersonate others, forge attribution, or send sensitive images to recipients who should not have them.

The app has no community, feed or server-side review, because your work never reaches a server. When you publish, the rules of the platform you post to apply.

Licence and fees

Subject to these terms and Apple's App Store terms, you may install and use the app on Apple devices you legally control, for personal or lawful work use. This grants no title in the software or its assets.

The current version has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Any price you pay is the App Store's, and purchases and refunds run through Apple's processes. If paid features arrive later, their price and scope will be shown before you buy, and no update to these terms charges you by itself.

Local data, backups and loss

Everything you make lives in the app's sandbox on your device, and may be included in your iPhone backup or moved to a new device by the system. The developer holds no server copy and cannot restore, look up or erase a work for you.

Reinstalling, erasing, restoring a backup or letting the collection trim its oldest grids can lose work — keep originals elsewhere. Photos saved into the collection are compressed copies, not your source files. An exported image is a picture, not a project file that can reconstruct every edit.

Availability and disclaimers

The app depends on iOS, device capability and the Vision frameworks it uses. System updates, storage pressure, unsupported image formats, interrupted imports or unusual photo sizes can affect scoring, layout and export. The app is provided as-is, without a warranty that it will run without error on every device, photo set or OS version, or that its scores match what you would have chosen. This does not affect mandatory statutory rights, and nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

Feature changes and ending use

Features may change between versions. If a change materially affects how you use the app, it will be described in the release notes or in-app. You may stop using the app at any time and delete your work or the app itself; stopping does not remove copies you already saved, shared, or backed up.

Disputes

If something is wrong, contact the developer first — the address is on the privacy policy page linked from the App Store listing. Nothing in these terms asks you to give up consumer protections or the jurisdiction of a court that would otherwise hear your claim.

Which terms apply where

These terms describe how the app may be used. They do not replace Apple's standard licence for the app delivery, and they do not override the privacy policy — see Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
