Terms of Use (Android)

What Marchland does, what the rewarded video does and does not unlock, what stays yours, and what to keep in mind while playing.

This page covers the Android build distributed through Google Play; it bundles one rewarded video, and it reports crashes and usage statistics to Firebase. The iOS build shows no advertising and sends no such telemetry; it states its own data handling: iOS version

This page covers the Android build distributed through Google Play. These terms say what Marchland provides, what stays yours, and what to keep in mind while playing. Please read the sections on real time, assisted deployment and advertising, your save data, and permitted use.

What the app is

A portrait, single-player territory-management and war-strategy game. You start from a northern fief, set labourers to farming, felling, quarrying and panning, raise the settlement into a town, and climb from the Pioneer age through Feudal, Castle and Imperial; meanwhile your army has to cross the border, take the pass and breach the enemy capital. There is no account, no in-app purchase and no subscription. The app contains one rewarded video, and what it unlocks is the convenience of "Deploy all" - never any content. Price and availability are as shown on the Google Play store page.

Real time and campaign pace

The campaign advances on real time. One in-game day equals twenty-four real hours and the chronicle runs to day seven; after that the territory stays yours to keep managing and conquering - nothing is force-ended or wiped.

Your lands keep producing while you are away, but a single settlement credits at most twenty-four hours of output and the rest does not accumulate - drop in when you remember, there is no schedule to keep. Construction countdowns, convoys in transit and enemy offensives advance on absolute time, so if you return three days later what needed building is built and the sieges that were due have already left their result in the battle reports.

You set the difficulty yourself at the start: one to nine enemy realms, each individually on Easy, Normal or Brutal. A realm you destroy does not come back.

Deploy all, and the video in front of it

The "Deploy all" button in the top bar has your steward queue a batch of actions that fit right now, and the price of that queue is watching one rewarded video to the end. Three things belong on record here.

First, skipping the video costs you no content. Every map, age, unit type and trade route ships with the download; the clip unlocks a convenience, not a gate - you can perform each of those actions by hand in the same interface. Second, advertising is a third-party capability, not a service we promise. If no fill arrives, you are offline, or nothing is available in your region, that attempt resolves as "no ad came back just now", no reward is granted, and none of your other progress is touched. Third, rewards are settled on your device with no server record, so we cannot offer cross-device reissue, recovery or an appeal channel for them.

Your save data

Progress, settings, battle reports and the chronicle live in the app's private directory on your device and are excluded from cloud backup and device transfer by the app's own manifest. There is no server copy: we cannot look up, restore, merge or delete your save for you. Whether it survives a reinstall or a factory reset is decided by Android's own mechanisms, not by us.

Permitted use

Please use the app lawfully. Do not decompile or reverse-engineer it; do not extract its artwork, audio, map data or code into standalone asset packs for distribution or resale; do not repackage or redistribute the app itself; and do not tamper with the local save to present invented battle reports as real results.

The app contains one rewarded video. Do not fake a view, farm the assisted-deployment reward, or otherwise generate invalid traffic against the ad component by modifying the package, injecting into it, or automating it. An ad network suspending its service on those grounds is acting within its own policy, and if that leaves the ad unit unavailable, "Deploy all" simply resolves as described above - the rest of the game is unaffected.

Nothing in this section limits uses that third-party components permit under their own licences; this build bundles Google's advertising runtime, credited with its privacy disclosure in the "Third-party components" section of the Privacy Policy.

The app has no online or social features of any kind: no leaderboard, no chat, no share wall visible to other players, and no content produced by other players that would need moderation. For that reason it carries no minor-protection, user-generated-content reporting or blocking mechanisms.

Licence

Subject to these terms and Google Play's Terms of Service, you receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Android devices you lawfully control. Ownership of the software and its assets does not transfer; third-party components keep their own licence terms, as listed in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is". It depends on your Android version and hardware; system updates, storage pressure or unusual hardware can affect how it runs, and we do not promise error-free operation on every device and every Android release. Whether an ad is available at any given moment is likewise outside our promise. This does not affect your mandatory statutory rights, and liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude is not excluded by these terms.

Changes and stopping use

Features may change between versions; a change that visibly affects gameplay - an adjustment to the idle-settlement ceiling, or the removal of the rewarded-video gate itself - will be stated in the release notes. Updating these terms does not by itself turn a free feature into a paid one. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it, together with the save data on your device.

If something goes wrong, contact the developer first - the address is on the Privacy Policy linked from the Google Play listing. These terms do not ask you to waive consumer-protection rights and do not change the jurisdiction of any competent court.

How these terms relate to others

These terms govern use of the app. They do not replace Google Play's standard licence terms for the delivery of the app, and they do not override the Privacy Policy - how data is handled is stated there.

Please mention "Marchland" and what you would like done. You can also reach us through the support link on the app's Google Play product page. We do not ask for unrelated personal details to answer an ordinary question - and since the game holds no server-side record of you, there is usually no data of ours to act on. What the advertising component collects is Google's to handle under its own policy.
