Juicy match-3
Swap two fruits; three of a kind clears. Four in a row leaves a line clearer, five leaves a rainbow ball, an L-shape leaves a bomb. Cascades speed up as they run, while ice and sugar rings keep getting in the way.
Strawberry is an inverted triangle, orange a circle, lime a hexagon, blueberry a diamond, grape a cluster of three, pineapple a rounded square. Each piece has its own outline, stroke and highlight, drawn in code on a canvas. The package holds no image files, and the silhouettes stay distinct without colour.
Clearing, falling and refilling each have their own timing, and past the sixth link the whole thing accelerates so the back half never becomes a cutscene. Falls are timed per cell, so distance costs time and the board has weight.
Ice sits on a cell: you must hit that cell to take a layer off. A sugar ring travels with its piece, is released by adjacent clears, and cannot be swapped. One tests aim, the other tests what you are willing to give up.
Swap, invalid swap, special created, line clearer, bomb, rainbow ball: six timbres built from sine waves and noise at runtime, stepping up a pentatonic scale as the cascade grows. No mp3, no wav in the package.
For anyone who likes lining up matching fruit without a timer or an energy bar chasing them.
